How it works
- Click "Remove background now" and choose a photo from your device (JPG, PNG or WebP).
- Wait a moment while the AI finds the subject. The first time, the AI model downloads once and is then kept on your device for next time.
- Check the result. Use the eraser or brush to touch up edges if you want, or undo with Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on Mac).
- Open File › Export As, pick PNG to keep the transparent background, and download.

Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Brushvane runs entirely inside your browser tab. Your images are opened, edited and saved on your own device and are never sent to a server, so they cannot be seen, stored or reused by anyone else.
Why is the first run slower?
The AI model (about 110 MB including the runtime) is downloaded the first time you use the feature. Your browser keeps it, so later runs start straight away, even without an internet connection.
How do I keep the transparent background?
Export as PNG or WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas turn white when you export as JPG.
Can I replace the background with a colour or another image?
Yes. Add a new layer, fill it with a colour or drop another picture onto the page, then drag that layer below your cut-out in the Layers panel.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every tool is free to use with no account, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.
